Handmade flower pots mightn’t be something you instantly think of when giving a gift. The first few things that probably come to mind are the usual expensive gifts such as jewellery, electronics and a lot of other expensive things. However, do the people really want those expensive every day gifts or would they rather get a gift that someone has actually put in a lot of time and effort into making?
Of course a lot of people would say no and that they would rather have the expensive gifts but many people would rather get a cheap, inexpensive gift that has more thought than anything else. Many people actually want the handmade gifts because they are special and unique. They are not only inexpensive for you but the people who you give them to, absolutely love them!
Today it’s really not about who has the most expensive gift or who has spent the most, it’s about giving the most thoughtful and useful gifts.
Though, if you don’t know how to make a handmade flower pot you can probably head down to your local garden centre and find one there! However, it is quite easy to make a handmade flower pot from home and to be honest you have two choices. You can make one from scratch or decorated one you have lying around your home.
Recycling items isn’t tacky, it’s actually really good. So if you’re trying to design and create a handmade flower pot, you should think about the person who will receive the gift. Do they like gardening a lot or is this just going to have one small little manageable house plant? Do they love bright bold colours or subtle shades?
These are the things to think about when it comes to the decorating stage because you have to think about the person’s personality. You might have a nice idea in mind but you also want them to like the flower pot, so try to go for a style that matches them.
If you are giving this to your dad or granddad, why not look at a green colour to paint the pot and then add a football theme such as a few players, a ball and if possible a goal keeper and net. If they don’t like football but like rugby instead try adding that theme or whatever sports they like.
If this gift is for your mother, sister or friend, you could look at a more neutral colour. Maybe not shocking pink but a nice purple or violet colour and add maybe a few stencils of rose flowers or whatever they like. You should try to capture their image and personality with the theme you choose.
