This wonderful kitchen island might seem small, but it packs a lot of functions. As you can see it not only provides a surface to work on, but also provides compartments for storage. And its perfect farmhouse look is adding a lot of charm to this kitchen. To make such an island you simply have to give a coat of white paint to a bookcase. Then cut a wood slab into boards and attach the boards to the either sides of the bookcase. Paint them too. This will make it look like a beadboard from the sides. Top it with a butcher block and voila! Happy decorating!
