Christmas is a very fun time. This is the time of the year when you can decorate your home fully and make it look just special and so unique. However, what happens if you are tired of sticking to the same old decorations? Well, if you are, you could choose DIY Christmas stars.
Making your own Christmas ornaments can be very special and really make your home stand out. You don’t need to spend a lot of money on new decorations or ornaments and if you don’t have much money you can easily save lots on decorations. What is more, if you just want new decorations and can’t find ones you love, why not make them?
DIY Christmas stars can look absolutely amazing. Making simple DIY Christmas stars or ornaments can be really simple and so inexpensive to do also because all you need is some sparkly or gold paper to make your stars. You also need a string to tie them to your tree or place them wherever you want to either.
You can easily use scarp paper in order to make your stars also. So the first thing that you need to do is cut out equilateral triangles from the scrap paper.
You should then take one of your triangles and fold then in half three times. You should also cut notches into your triangle – this should be at each side.
When you are creating your stars, you need to make sure that one of your triangles is folded so that you have longer creases to the foil side.
This will be for the back of the star and then you can then go onto folding another triangle – for the second triangle you will follow the same pattern, except when you make the long creases to the foil side but this time it will be for the front side of the star.
Once you have folded your triangles correctly, you will need to fit each point of both parts of the star and fit the triangles into each notches of the star.
Each point should fit in well with one another and this will make your completed star.
After you have made your finished stars, you can either place your stars wherever you want to or you can add a tie to them. You will need to make a little hole at the top of the star – a needle should be used for safety – and add a piece of string which you can use as a tie. You can add one or two to your tree or even make dozens and tie them all together!
