To make a rug like this you will require old t-shirts, a mesh and scissors. First cut the t-shirts into very thin strips with the help of scissors. Then start tying knots of the strips on the mesh. Keep on doing it until whole the mesh is covered with strips. You can do the same to a towel too. If you want you can use a mix of different colored t-shirts.
