If you have a pair of old wooden crutches then instead of disposing them off try converting them into a bookshelf like this.
To make this book case you have to connect the bases of the crutches with the help of a hinge and they will take a form like an upside down V. Then with the help of screws you have to attach wooden slats to the crutches to become the shelves. Paint the slats if you like as shown in the photo.
Now it is all set to get a place in your house as your newly created bookcase.
